IP management industry leader introduces new ANAQUA Express
licensing solution for IP and Digital Rights Owners

Boston, October 21, 2008 — Anaqua, a leading provider of intellectual asset management (IAM) software, today announced a new IP License Management solution. ANAQUA Express License Management helps IP and digital rights owners automate their licensing operations to increase licensing activity, improve compliance and automate royalty collection. Anaqua’s Enterprise clients have had access to this comprehensive License Management capability as an integrated component of their ANAQUA Enterprise IAM system. ANAQUA Express License Management is a standalone solution for licensing departments to use independent of their company’s IP management solution. It is available as either an online ASP service or installed onsite.
The License Management system provides a web-based collaborative environment for everyone involved in the licensing process. It has an integrated database that holds all information on internal IP Assets, third party IP assets, licensing opportunities, contract terms, financial terms and many other details as well as all documents and email correspondence. IP assets are cross-linked so users can immediately identify the assets involved in the license and also see all license agreements that include a specific IP asset. The system includes support for managing organizations, contacts, expenses and all licensing activities. Configurable workflows allow the management of all licensing events including contract review and approval with reminders, alerts and escalations to ensure compliance and avoid missed deadlines.
The ANAQUA Portfolio Management tools allow licensing users to categorize their own assets as well as third party portfolios by any number of business, technical or other classifications so that licensing decisions can be made with the relevant information clearly visible to all. Visual tools make it easy to capture asset evaluation and other decisions.
The optional Royalties Management module establishes royalty payment schemes and schedules and manages the collections process. It automates the process of requesting royalty forecasts, distributing invoices and tracking royalty income, including electronic invoicing.
“We’ve seen a real need for better system support for IP licensing in many companies,” said Priya Iyer, President of Anaqua. “Licensing departments have asked us for a solution they can adopt without impacting the rest of the IP organization and we’re pleased to be able to respond. We’ve addressed both the internal IP cross-licensing requirement as well as the increasing need for in- and out-licensing management in today’s open innovation environment.”
