By Justin Crotty, CEO of Anaqua
I’m excited to announce that our near term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Anaqua views this milestone as an important step in an ongoing journey, and we will continue to evaluate opportunities to further strengthen our climate strategy while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and long term value creation.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global climate action organization that enables companies to set emissions reduction targets aligned with the latest climate science, with the goal of limiting global temperature increase to 1.5°C.
The validation of Anaqua’s near term targets reflects the company’s continued commitment to responsible growth, environmental stewardship, and transparency. These are key pillars of Anaqua’s strategy.
By aligning our emissions reduction efforts with climate science, Anaqua is taking meaningful steps to reduce our environmental impact while supporting our clients, employees, and communities.
The targets below were validated by the SBTi under Adonis BidCo Inc., the parent company of Anaqua and affiliated entities. Anaqua is included within the scope of these commitments:
- Adonis BidCo Inc. commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 63.0% by 2035, from a 2024 base year.
- Adonis BidCo Inc. commits to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions 66.33% per million USD value added by 2035, from a 2024 base year.
Why do we care about emission targets?
As a software and services company operating with primarily remote employees, we are already a low emission source globally. That said we understand the importance and are committed to improving further, especially since Anaqua serves clients around the globe, and we have offices and data operations across multiple continents, working with a huge number of partners and vendors.
Our clients increasingly want to know that the companies they work with are serious about sustainability and are doing our part to protect our environment.
As Susan Grover, Anaqua’s Vice President of Human Resources, says, “Having our near-term targets validated by the SBTi is an important milestone for Anaqua. It reflects our commitment to operating responsibly, setting measurable goals, and being accountable for the progress we make as a business.”
Our continued commitment to climate impact
As I’ve said, this is a milestone in our journey, not a finish line. We’re going to keep working on direct reductions across our operations and our value chain, and we’ll keep you posted as we make progress toward these targets.

Thanks to everyone at Anaqua who have worked hard to help us get here.
