Two months ago, when Patrix joined Anaqua, I wrote a blog post sharing our rationale and goals for the acquisition. In that post, I noted the following:
“Patricia customers can continue on their existing platform. Support continues. The roadmap continues and will be advanced by Anaqua. Customers using Patrix’s renewals service will continue without interruption. Our goal is to meet the Patrix clients where they are today and give them the optionality to access more as their needs evolve in the future.”
Today, I want to share how we’re working toward that commitment and share some more details regarding what we’ve done to advance Patricia and to give Patricia clients optionality and flexibility to take advantage of Anaqua’s broader capabilities and innovations.
Our Commitment Remains Unchanged
We have several initiatives underway for Patricia driven by what our clients have asked for most, prioritized in combination with Anaqua’s resources and experience:
- Modernized Hosting and Infrastructure – We are moving Patricia hosting into Anaqua’s hosting environment, bringing the benefits of Anaqua's multi-regional global infrastructure and the related tools and staff dedicated to security and reliability. As both environments are within Azure, customer disruption is minimal and deployment is already in motion.
-
- Renewals Process Optimization – Automation of annuities, invoicing, and payment workflows is underway to reduce manual activity and risk. We are doing this in two phases to reduce potential disruption for clients. First, we’re introducing behind-the-scenes automation that streamlines operations, reduces manual effort, and improves efficiency. Next, we’ll build on that foundation with direct integration between Patricia and Anaqua fulfillment systems, creating a more connected environment that benefits from Anaqua’s global scale.
- WiseTime Integration – Based on client demand, we are enabling access to WiseTime, Anaqua’s autonomous time capture solution, bringing AI-powered productivity measuring and insights into Patricia.
- AI-Driven Docketing – Work is progressing to introduce AI-assisted docketing capabilities, delivering faster, less labor-intensive handling of critical deadlines and IP events.
- Client Portal – We’re exploring a modern client portal experience, leveraging Anaqua capabilities, to enhance collaboration and transparency for the end-users of Patricia’s law firm clients.
- Additional Integration Improvements – We are also looking to provide billing enhancements, additional API-based integrations, and other workflow improvements.
To help set the direction for Patricia and other products, I’m pleased to announce that Mehrdad Assadi, former Patrix CTO, has moved into a senior role on the Anaqua Product Leadership team. Jessica Fagerberg is continuing to oversee IP renewals operations for teams supporting Patricia customers, focusing on service quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
Choice and Flexibility
While we continue to invest in Patricia, we also recognize that every organization evolves differently. For those clients seeking a different path, we are making available alternative Anaqua solutions such as AQX and RightHub. There’s no forced migration. Our goal is to continue to meet clients’ needs where they are today, while giving them the freedom to expand into other capabilities on their own terms as their needs evolve.
For some clients, that may mean staying with Patricia. For others, it may mean adopting other solutions within the Anaqua portfolio. As the IP landscape continues to evolve with artificial intelligence (AI), regulatory shifts, and economic pressure, we want to be the trusted partner our clients can rely on to navigate what’s next.
Continued Engagement
As discussed above, engagement with the Patricia client community informs our priorities and helps set the direction for our solutions. Karin Hermansson is leading strategic relationship management for the Patricia customer base, acting as a senior escalation point and ensuring clients are supported throughout their journey, including any customer-driven uplift to our hosting infrastructure.
Finally, we will be hosting the Patricia User Group Conference coming up in Warsaw, Poland, on September 5-8, 2026. I am excited to be attending to meet with members of the community directly and share some thoughts about how we will continue to move forward together.
